Employers in the construction industry should provide their workers with a safe working environment. The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 came into force in April 2007 and offer legal protection for construction site workers.
The Work at Height Regulations 2005 also offer legal protection for builders and others working on building sites.
The Health and Safety Executive is heavily involved in the construction industry, offering guidance to employers and building site employees. If the regulations are complied with, there shouldn’t really be any injuries on construction sites as they offer full protection for workers. That means there’s a good chance that employers or contractors will be at fault for any injuries suffered on site.
