Traumatic brain injury is a type of an acquired brain injury. Traumatic brain injury is caused when a force impacts the brain affecting cognitive (thought process) and or physical (movement) functioning. There are two types of TBI; open head injury (also known as a penetrating injury) and closed head injury.
