11/01/2005
Thank you so much for handling my case so well. You came to know us at a great time of sadness and you were so kind. We will always remember you as very professional but also very warm hearted.
Sylvia, Tamworth
Three hospitals in Greater Manchester have had to close wards as a result of the Norovirus bug. The news comes as one newspaper revealed that 80% of doctors on intensive care units never wash their hands. More than 160 people have now been struck down by the superbug at Salford's Hope Hospital, where six wards including five elderly care wards have been closed. Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport and North Manchester General hospital have also closed wards because of the virus.
Jonathan Betts, Personal Injury Solicitor and Partner at Alexander Harris said, "Norovirus is extremely infectious and is extremely unpleasant. I have handled a number of cases where people have suffered from Norovirus especially where swift action is not taken to prevent further spread of the disease. It is imperative that this outbreak is managed properly."
