Thank you for all your time and excellent work and rest assured that if myself or family or friends require any legal help in the future I will refer them to yourselves.

Michael, Crawley

More than 30 elderly Britons were robbed at gunpoint in Brazil.

The tourists were driving from Rio de Janeiro airport to their hotel when their coach was held up. Four men took jewellery, passports and credit cards at gunpoint.

The group was midway through a two week horse-racing holiday in South America, and had only just arrived in Brazil. The tour company are Horse Racing Abroad.

The group have been offered counselling.

The robbery happened on Thursday night. The group had attended races at courses in Argentina and on Saturday visited Brazil's Hipodromo de Gavea.

They will end their holiday on 26 January as planned.
Specialist injury and illness overseas solicitor Simon Taylor said:

"These tourists are entitled to ask the question, why didn't the tour company seek to protect them in the first instance? The road on which these tourists were travelling has become notorious for carjacking and robberies. This would indicate that the company should have had some preventative measures in place to ensure that their customers were safe. Tourists may be entitled to compensation for the trauma they have suffered and any way their holiday has been ruined, and should seek specialist legal advice."
