Specialist clinical negligence solicitor adds to expertise in Solihull
15/02/2005
Thank you to everyone involved in my case. I never dreamed of such an outcome and you have made such a long and difficult case seem easy and bearable.
Nigel, Derbyshire
Caroline Stokes joined our clinical negligence team in Solihull in the new year. She returns to Alexander Harris as a qualified solicitor after working for the firm in Altrincham as a paralegal three years ago.
Caroline
studied Law at the University of Warwick and completed her Legal
Practice Course at Nottingham Law School. Training at Alsters Kelley
Solicitors in Warwickshire she qualified in 2003 and was keen to join a
niche practice specialising in clinical negligence.
Caroline has experience of a wide-range of clinical negligence cases particularly involving misdiagnosis, surgical errors, birth injuries and fatalities. One of her most recent settlements involved the case of Annie who decided to have a sterilisation operation
after having four children and two long difficult labours. Six weeks
later a test confirmed that she was pregnant. An ultrasound scan
confirmed that Annie had conceived after the sterilisation procedure had been performed. After the birth Annie and her husband pursued a claim on the basis that the sterilisation procedure had been performed incorrectly. Caroline recovered compensation for them at more than the conventional award expected in similar cases.
