Specialist clinical negligence Solicitor speaks at conference for MRSA Support group

Specialist clinical negligence solicitor, Louise Hunt, spoke at the weekend at the Annual General Meeting and Conference of MRSA Support; the support group for sufferers and dependents of MRSA.
Louise outlined how the Law works in relation to clinical negligence claims; and talked specifically about the law in relation to MRSA.
Based at our Solihull office, and with nine years experience acting for clients with clinical negligence claims, Louise specialises in birth injury and spinal injury, and catastrophic brain injury.
Prior to becoming a qualified Solicitor in 1995, Louise spent two years as a Registered General Nurse, providing her with invaluable knowledge and understanding of medical conditions and procedures.
John's story - MRSA in leg following fall
John was at home when he fell from a ladder and fractured his leg. He was treated in hospital and discharged several days later. About 2-3 weeks later he experienced pain in his leg and visited his GP. Several days later swabs revealed that MRSA was present in his leg. John underwent five operations on his leg. Several days later John suffered from dizziness and nausea. John sustained permanent damage to his ear, affecting his ability to carry out everyday activities, and permanent damage to his ankle, affecting his ability to work.
Louise obtained £65 000 in compensation for John, which will help him to get the help and support he needs.
Also speaking at the conference were Jean Lawrence, a representative from the Nurses' Association specialising in infection control, and Afshan Ahmad, from Vaccine Research Ltd.
