The product 'Outline Original' which is used in cosmetic surgery for lip implants may cause severe reactions in some patients.
Outline Original, a bioresorbable polyacrylamide filler is manufactured by ProCytech.
It is
contra-indicated by other commonly used products in lip implant surgery. Side effects include permanent swelling, redness, and scabbing.
We are currently handling a case involving the product Outline Original where a severe reaction to the product was experienced.
Clinical negligence solicitor Auriana Griffiths said:
"This product has not been tested for its interaction with other implants and may cause a reaction when used in conjunction with them."
"Patients must be warned of the risk of their occurrence, and provide informed consent to the treatment."
