21/09/2004
We found you very professional as well as approachable, helpful and caring. We can now move on and look forward to a more stable and secure future. I am sure that this would not have happened without yourselves being involved.

Expanding clinical negligence
Just 2 weeks after the announcement that a new travel litigation
team has joined the Solihull office of health specialists Alexander
Harris, the firm continues the pace of growth with another forceful
appointment this week.
Louise Hunt recognised as one of the
most experienced clinical negligence solicitors in the Midlands has
joined the national health law specialists.
Louise was appointed a Partner and is working alongside Head of the branch Richard Follis, a well renowned legal figurehead with over 20 years experience in his field; the pair will forge a stronghold in the Midlands.
The Solihull office has witnessed an increase in clinical negligence
work since its launch in 2002. In the last financial year the number of
new clients entering the department increased by a significant 86%.
The growth is such that the office has expanded from 14 to 21 staff in a matter of months. Clinical negligence specialist Christine Hollis has also joined the office this summer. She has over 12 years experience of both defendant and claimant work. In addition Patricia Roe
a newly qualified solicitor who has trained with the firm for over 4
years moved to Solihull from Manchester committing to a clinical
negligence career. Paralegal Kate Edwards makes up the recruitment
drive into the department.
Solihull Partner Richard Follis
said: "As a niche practice we are attracting high calibre lawyers who
are committed to claimant health law and want to work amongst some of
the leading lawyers in their field. Growth is taking place across the
entire firm and in the coming months we will have recruited in excess
of 20 fee earning staff nationally. We are finding that our clients
welcome the closeness of such a renowned firm on their doorstep in the
suburbs, as opposed to having to battle with getting into the City.
Louise will add to our expertise for the benefit of our existing and
future clients."
Highly recommended by 'Chambers and Partners'
and 'The Legal500' two independent client guides to the legal
profession, Louise Hunt is known for her maximum severity work
involving catastrophic birth injury, cancer misdiagnosis, serious orthopaedic and surgical cases.
Before
qualifying as a solicitor in 1995, Louise practised as a nurse for 5
years. Her expertise are recognised by her current panel membership to
AvMA, APIL, The Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel and The Nurses
and Law Association. She is a qualified adjudicator and is completing a
medical law and ethics course at Manchester University.
Louise is well known amongst the legal profession for her landmark
case of Woodhall. A successful High Court Appeal which allowed both
parties' solicitors to attend joint expert discussions leading to a
substantial settlement and a great step forward for forthcoming cases.
Departing
from Freeth Cartwright LLP, Louise is "looking forward to furthering
her career with Alexander Harris, a niche practice that specialises in
health law, based closer to home in Solihull."
