Alexander Harris have been contacted by a number of holidaymakers whose pre Christmas break at the Taurito Princess Hotel in Gran Canaria was ruined due to illness.
Sharon Burridge from Birmingham was staying at the Taurito Princess Hotel with
her husband in December. "On our first night we ate at the hotel
restaurant in the evening. A few hours later both my husband and I were
profusely sick for several hours. At first I thought it might be a stomach bug,
but after speaking with other guests at the hotel the following day we
found out that there were 60 other people suffering with exactly the
same symptoms."
"We have been appalled by the attitude of the tour company to this crisis."
It is believed that up to sixty people staying at the hotel may have been affected.
Specialist travel litigation solicitor Simon Taylor who represented over a thousand people whose holidays in Majorca were ruined after they caught the stomach bug cryptosporidium said:
"If it is apparent these illnesses were caused by failures in health and hygiene standards then those affected will be entitled to compensation for their illness and ruined holidays, and they should seek specialist legal advice."
