Barry, Doncaster
Warren Collins, the lawyer representing the family of a two year old
boy who was killed whilst on holiday in the Bahamas has spoken of his
dismay having heard of another terrible water sports tragedy.
Bahamas police Thursday are investigating the death of an American tourist who was killed in a jet ski accident.
Anthony
Moretti, 44, of Staten Island, New York, died Tuesday on Paradise
Island, after his jet ski collided with one driven by his 13-year-old
niece, said police superintendent Hulan Hanna.
Local jet ski
operators pulled Moretti from the water. He suffered severe head
injuries and died after being taken to a hospital, Hanna said.
Several people have died in water sports accidents on Paradise island in recent years.
Last
month, Bahamas Hotel Association president Jeremy MacVean called for
tough new licensing regulations and insurance requirements for water
sport vessels.
His call came after a British couple asked British
police help investigate the death of their two-year-old son, who was
struck by a speedboat in 2002 near the same beach where Moretti died.
