Jane’s story - cauda equina syndrome following back operation
Thank you very much for the brilliant service, professionalism and caring attitude whilst handling my recent claim.
Vicki, Sheffield
Jane was suffering from pain in her back. She went into hospital to have an operation to remove a disk from her back.
After the surgery she developed cauda equina syndrome - a clinical syndrome which is characterised by dull pain in the lower back and upper buttock region, analgesia in the buttocks, genitals or the thigh, accompanied by a disturbance of bowel and bladder function.
Due to a negligent delay in diagnosing cauda equina syndrome and in performing further surgery Jane now suffers from permanent injuries which include the loss of sensation in her lower limbs, and incontinence.
Specialist clinical negligence solicitor settled Jane's case for a six figure sum.
