Mark accepted a lift home from a nightclub from a friend of a friend. The driver opened the car with the car keys and they set off home. Unbeknown to Mark, the car was stolen. The driver crashed the car and Mark suffered a spinal cord injury resulting in permanent paralysis. The car was insured and following negotiations an agreement was reached in relation to liability.
