Evelyn's story - pedestrian run over by car

Michael, CrawleyOne evening, Evelyn briefly left her home to walk to the waste bins which were situated on an adjoining pub car park. Whilst placing her rubbish in the bin, a taxi rushed into the pub car park and blew its horn. A passenger came out from the pub and got into the taxi.
Making her way back across the car park, Evelyn was then knocked down by the taxi. The taxi driver without warning had reversed into Evelyn. One of the wheels went over Evelyn's right shin. Crying out in agony, the taxi then moved forwards, running over her shin again.
The police and ambulance services were called to the scene of the accident and Evelyn was taken to hospital where X-rays revealed that she had not suffered any fractures to her shin bone. Although she was later discharged from hospital, Evelyn remained in considerable pain and called an emergency ambulance. She was readmitted to hospital.
Evelyn suffered a severe soft tissue injury to the outside of her shin and severe bruising all the way up her right leg. She also suffered a chipped bone in her left big toe and scratches on her chin and hands. The severity of the soft tissue injury was such that she required a large skin graft from her left thigh to her right shin.
Evelyn approached specialist road traffic accident solicitors Alexander Harris. The firm is representing Evelyn in her personal injury claim against the taxi driver, who is also awaiting prosecution.
