Military Injury Claim Leads to £295,000 Compensation for RAF Corporal
A former RAF Corporal who was injured whilst on duty in Cyprus has been awarded £295,000 following a successful military injury claim.
Our client, a well respected Corporal with promising promotion prospects was medically discharged from service as a result of crush injuries to his right lower leg and ankle sustained whilst serving at RAF Akotiri, Cyprus. Our client also developed complex regional pain syndrome. He continues to undergo treatment due to the ongoing pain.
The injuries suffered by our client mean that he is unable to continue his promising career as an aircraft engineer in either the military or civilian employment and is only able to work in sedentary occupations.
Specialist military injury solicitors successfully presented evidence to support the belief that he would have continued in the RAF to complete 30 years service.
The six figure compensation sum was awarded to our client in view of his ongoing symptoms and his loss of military career. The award also took into account an amount to compensate him for his injuries, past and ongoing loss of earnings, ongoing care, military benefits, pension and terminal grant which he would have been entitled to receive at the end of his military career.
