Rob's story - injured at work abroad
Thank you so much for handling my case so well. You came to know us at a great time of sadness and you were so kind. We will always remember you as very professional but also very warm hearted.
Sylvia, Tamworth
Rob, a UK citizen worked for a multi-national corporation based in Germany. Seconded to work for the company's Taiwanese office, his job involved visiting customers at their factories.
Rob visited a plant at one of Taiwan's largest paper producers, where he and 8 other people examined machinery from a gantry 5 metres above the ground. The gantry collapsed, and Rob was thrown on the floor.
Rob was knocked unconscious, and awoke in intensive care. He suffered a punctured lung, 4 broken ribs and a fractured collar bone, which needed to be plated and pinned, along with problems to his neck that continue to trouble him.
Rob discovered after the accident that he had been one of the lucky ones, and that one of the employees of the factory had been killed by the fall.
Rob contacted the specialist Foreign Claims Team at Alexander Harris due to their experience in handling accidents at work claims overseas. Rob instructed Alexander Harris to pursue a claim for compensation for the injuries that he sustained in the fall. The Foreign Claims Team are investigating all of the accident circumstances in order to assist Rob in recovering substantial compensation for his injuries and financial losses.
